High School Swimming: North Farmington Triumphs at League Meet

North Farmington High came away with the Oakland Activities Association White Division swimming and diving title Friday at .

Three seniors were recognized in MVP fashion: Cameron Wasko for North Farmington, Jai Singh for Rochester High and Shameek Mohile for West Bloomfield.

The final results of the OAA White Division boys swimming championships at West Bloomfield High are:

1. North Farmington (545.5 points)
2. Bloomfield Hills Lahser High (503 points)
3. Farmington Hills Harrison High (431.5 points)
4. West Bloomfield (412 points)
5. Rochester (390 points)
6. Rochester Adams High (312 points)

“I couldn’t think of a better way to end my senior year. It was amazing,” Wasko said. "We’re really lucky to have a great group of kids and coaches. We practice really hard, so we deserve this victory.

“It’s tough coming into a morning practice, but when you swim with kids as dedicated as myself, it’s well worth it,” he added.

North Farmington head coach Mike Harfoot scheduled practice at 10 a.m. — after he got dunked in the pool — for his swimmers who qualified for the state meet in a few weeks.
