Orchard Lake St. Mary's Football Players Help Clean Up Field

The team will play in the 2013 DSC Prep Kickoff Classic in August.

Football players from Orchard Lake St. Mary's helped clean up Detroit’s Stoepel Park No.1, with members of the Detroit Sports Commission (DSC) and high school football players and coaches from the 2013 DSC Prep Kickoff Classic.

The DSC partnered with Detroit PAL (Police Athletic League) this week to spruce up the football field that is home to the PAL Broncos’ youth football program.

The DSC with players and coaches from Birmingham Brother Rice, Cass Tech, Oak Park, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s and Southfield high school football teams, and players and coaches from the PAL Broncos’ program, leveled uneven portions of the field, dropped new top soil, planted seed and painted the goalposts, equipment shed and blocking sled.

Tickets for the Prep Kickoff Classic, which starts Aug. 29, are now on sale for $8 at participating schools. Game-day tickets are $10.
