Photo Gallery: NFWB Teams Compete in Commerce Classic

Baseball teams from West Bloomfield, North Farmington, Grosse Pointe, Southfield, and as far away as Windsor came to Maple Glen Park in Commerce Saturday with one goal in mind — bringing home the championship trophy.

The Commerce Classic, an annual elimination tournament, hosted North Farmington West Bloomfield games for teams in age brackets from 8-and-under to 12-and-under, including 9-, 10-, and 11-and-under teams. Although the North Farmington West Bloomfield Panthers' 10-and-under team was beaten via the mercy rule (by a score greater than 10 runs) against the Commerce Cavemen and the Panthers' 11-and-under team fell to the Southfield Cardinals by a score of 14-5, high spirits were the order of the day as baseball was used to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend.
