  • Allyson Kus – West Bloomfield High School (softball): Allyson Kus had another dynamite week for the West Bloomfield High School softball team. She helped the Lakers sweep a doubleheader over Lahser 6-1 and 11-0. She struck out 21 batters in two games. On Wednesday, she had 11 strikeouts in a 5-1 win over Avondale. She pitched a pair of complete game shutouts Friday in two mercy rule wins over Redford Union. She struck out 13 batters over two games.
  • Kamryn LaCarter – Troy High School (softball): Kamryn LaCarter’s bat helped Troy sweep a doubleheader over Farmington on Wednesday 7-1 and 7-2. “She’s just on fire right now,” Colts coach Tom Calnen said. LaCarter went 6-for-8 in two games with four RBIs and four runs in the two wins. On Monday, she went 7-for-9 in a doubleheader against Adams with seven runs.
  • Tim Zobl  – Bloomfield Hills Andover High School (baseball): Tim Zobl showed a lot of power this week for the Andover High School baseball team. In a 10-2 win over Harrison on Monday, Zobl went 3-for-3 with a home run. In game one of a doubleheader against Royal Oak on Friday, he went deep again and had two RBI in a 12-5 win.
  • T.J. Carey – Lake Orion High School (track and field): T.J. Carey helped the Lake Orion boys track and field team win the Oxford Invitational on Saturday. Carey finished in first place in the 1600 meter run (4:23.42) by just more than a tenth of a second over Utica’s Chris Scott. He placed third place in the 3200 meter run (9:45.05). He also helped the Dragons’ 3200 Meter Relay team place first place (8:03.61).
