UDPATED: What's Open, Closed on Fourth of July in West Bloomfield?

Government offices are closed, as are both libraries, on Thursday.

This week's Fourth of July holiday affects trash collection, mail service and more. Whether you're traveling or staying home, here's what you need to know: 

Government offices closed

West Bloomfield Township offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. The U.S. Post Office on Daly Road will also be closed Thursday, and there will be no mail delivery. The Secretary of State Office at 4297 Orchard Lake Rd. will be closed, as well the city offices of Orchard Lake Village, Sylvan Lake and Keego Harbor.

Township parks facilities open

If you're planning a "stay-cation" this weekend, head out to enjoy any of the township's parks and outdoor pool will be open. For a full list of facilities and locations, visit westbloomfieldparks.org

Trash pick-up changes

Are your trash and recyclables usually collected on Thursday? This week, put them out on Friday.

West Bloomfield Township Library

The Main library and Westacres will be closed on Thursday and re-open at 9 a.m. on Friday. 

Fill 'er up

AAA Michigan reports that average gas prices in the state are down 19 cents from last week. The website detroitgasprices.com reports the lowest price in West Bloomfield as of Monday night was $3.39, at the Mobil station, Orchard Lake Rd. and Northwestern Hwy., the Shell station, Orchard Lake Rd. and Maple, and Citgo, Pontiac Trail and Haggerty Road.
