Help Needed with West Bloomfield Historic Home Tour

A number of positions are open for the June event.

Planning is well underway for the 2014 Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society (GWBHS) Home Tour, and volunteers are needed to make the event a success.

The event will include 8-10 homes and is scheduled for June 21, 2014. Here's a list of volunteer opportunities:

Homeowner Liasons
Responsible for working with the homeowners as their primary point of contact. Help get answers to their questions, recommend ways to tidy up the home for tour, and do a walk through prior to the event. Help create a storyboard for the home.

Ticket Sales Chairperson
Responsible for setting up and coordinating the ticket sales locations, including Schulak farm, English Gardens, Detroit Garden Works and others. Price out wristbands and coordinating online sales through GWBHS website.

Journalist Chairperson
Work with the homeowner liasons to write stories for each home and create story boards, work with media chairperson.

Docent Chairperson
Responsible for recruiting, training and working with the docents to set up a crew for each of the homes, uniforms, lunch for day of event and create rule booklets for each home.

Docents
Responsible for learning information about the home, guiding visitors through the home, making sure visitors are following the rules. Each home will have one captain docent to help train the others at that home.

Treasurer
Responsible for keeping track of the costs associated to the event, keep a running tally of all expenses.
