5 Things to Know About the First Week of School in West Bloomfield
School's out Thursday, as the Jewish high holidays begin.
West Bloomfield Public Schools students go back to class on Tuesday, so the week ahead brings a number of school-related activities and events.
Here are a few we've found on the West Bloomfield Patch calendar and the district's website:
1. Just Peachy End of Summer Party
Celebrate the last day of summer vacation Monday, 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., with music, dancing, face painting, free hot cookies and more at the frozen yogurt shop, which is located at 4312 Orchard Lake Road.2. No school on Thursday
The Jewish high holidays start a little early this year; Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Wednesday. West Bloomfield Public Schools is closed for the first day of the holiday.3. First home football game
The Lakers open their 2013 home season playing Clarkston in a 7 p.m. on Friday. The game also marks the opening of the West Bloomfield High Marching Band season.4. Marching Band Field Day
