Lone Pine Elementary School is one of four elementary schools in Bloomfield Hills Schools; it is located in West Bloomfield. Led by Principal Mary Hillberry and guided by state benchmarks, Lone Pine teachers design thematic units and integrate curriculum so that it is developmentally appropriate, open-ended and relevant. Parent-teacher conferences occur twice annually and are well-attended, while an academic resource room, media center, reading recovery room, general education resource teacher and learning resource center provide additional resources.
Lone Pine is a State Exemplary School Award winner in 1994 and 1997. It offers a school yearbook, International Club, D.A.R.E., New Parent Welcome Committee and Community Service Program. Children are kept entertained with a book fair, Spring Carnival, concerts and assemblies.
