Henry Ford West Bloomfield and DMC Huron Valley-Sinai hospitals reported their first births of the new year.
A baby boy, Alexander Weber, and a girl, Molly Ann Schone, are the first babies born in the Greater West Bloomfield area in 2013. Alexander, the first baby at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital was born to Amy and Justin Weber of Livonia at 8:28 a.m. on Tuesday. Alexander will be going home soon to join his older brother, Jacob, the hospital reports. Molly Ann was born to Kellie and Greg Schone of Milford at the DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce at 4:25 p.m. on Tuesday. Have a new birth to broadcast? From elections to school news, here's what we're thinking ahead to in 2013.
A lot happened in 2012 — but that year's over. A lot is on deck for the Greater West Bloomfield area community in 2013 as well. At West Bloomfield Patch, here are the top five things we're looking forward to this year: New construction: In July 2011, the West Bloomfield Township Board approved plans to develop the northwest corner intersection of Maple Road and Orchard Lake Road into a mixed-use facility. Construction is still ongoing. Other new projects include a Bosko's coffee shop in Keego Harbor and the reconstruction of the former U.S. Blades building in West Bloomfield.
