West Bloomfield Police Investigating Break-in at Sprint Store

West Bloomfield Township Police Department reports from Nov. 27-Dec. 3 included 73 alarms, 37 crashes and four arrests. Among the highlights:  Police have surveillance footage and are investigating a break-in and theft from the Sprint store at 6053 Haggerty Road, south of Maple. Lt. Tim Diamond said that at about 6:40 a.m. Dec. 1, police responded to an alarm at the store and found the front door had likely been pried open. Among items that owners of the store reported missing are $400 missing cash and phones, including four Apple iPhones and other models, totaling over $4,500.  Police have no suspects, Diamond added. Police: Solar-Powered Light Stolen from West Bloomfield Estates Sub

West Bloomfield Township Police Department reports from Oct. 15-22 included 94 alarms, 31 crashes and nine arrests. Among the highlights: A solar-power light used to illuminate a sign at Meurdale and Drake roads for the West Bloomfield Estates subdivision was reported stolen Oct. 20, according to Lt. Tim Diamond. The president of the subdivision association reported the light, worth about $6, stolen after noticing a white van suspiciously parked near the sign in days prior and noting the license plate number, Diamond added. Detectives are investigating. A 42-year-old West Bloomfield woman checking her debit card balance on a smart phone noticed over $955 in fraudulent charges from seven different online retailers, according to Diamond.  …

Shoplifting Turns to Violence; Identity Theft Reported

West Bloomfield Township Police Department reports from Jan. 17-23 included 58 alarms, 30 crashes and 13 arrests. Among the highlights: Police are investigating a report of an alleged shoplifter at CosmoProf who shoved an employee into metal shelving units before escaping into a waiting vehicle, West Bloomfield Police Lt. Tim Diamond said. The incident occurred about 11 a.m. Jan. 20 after the female employee watched the female suspect take one bottle of shampoo (valued at $19, according to Diamond) and two bottles of conditioner ($40) from a shelf and put them in her purse. The employee approached the suspect and removed the items from her purse, Diamond said, and the suspect shoved her into some nearby metal shelves before running away. …

Disoriented Man Found; Resident's Identity Stolen

West Bloomfield Police Department officers reported to 79 alarms, 27 crashes and nine arrests Sept. 27-Oct. 4. Following are highlights of the police reports: A 54-year-old West Bloomfield resident was found by two other residents around 8:10 p.m. Thursday walking in the middle of Drake Road near 14 Mile Road, West Bloomfield Police Lt. Tim Diamond said. The man had fallen while walking home from his synagogue, and felt disoriented while bleeding from the side of his head, Diamond said. Police and EMS responders took the man to the hospital, he said. A West Bloomfield resident fell victim to identity theft Sept. 27, Diamond said.
