Golf course that abuts Huntington Woods is a welcome part of the neighborhood.

Family makes the best of a chilly, rainy June day.
Former Dearborn resident Saba Laeeq was in Michigan in June when she and her family took a ferry to Mackinac Island. "I took this pic as we were walking back towards the ferry station Arnold Transit Co.," said the mother of two boys who now lives in Scottsdale, AZ. "... it just looked so serene and peaceful, so pure Michigan close to the hustle and bustle of the main street. "It was funny to me that we really wanted to ride bikes in the town, but that day was so cold, windy, rainy and foggy that all we could do was wear ponchos and walk around drinking hot chocolate and eating fudge! The bikes looked so lonely as if they were waiting to be ridden!" What's your favorite way to pass a rainy day in Michigan? To email this photo, just look for…

At-home gardens delight with fresh vegetables and fruit.
With winter just around the corner, some of us are already longing for fresh produce from our gardens or nearby farmers markets. Tenely Smith of Hartland shared this photo of a late August harvest from her garden. Smith said she loves to cook with her fresh produce and share it with friends. "I picked this bushel full in late August. ... Our garden is big – about 30' x 100' fenced in to keep the deer out. I grow heirloom tomatoes that I start from seed, asparagus, garlic, corn, beans, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, peas, zucchini and several herbs," she said. "The sunflowers are 'volunteers.' I planted a row of mixed sunflowers two or three years ago. The seeds that fell sprout each spring and I let them …
