Power Outages Reported in Orchard Lake, Pine Lake Area

Over 7,000 customers without power for a portion of Thursday afternoon.

The area outage was reported just before 4 p.m. for approximately 7,700 DTE Energy customers, slowing down traffic and closing some businesses down for the day. Watch for Flooding, Dense Fog on Tuesday and Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued warnings due to warming temperatures and as much as an inch of rain expected Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning  for a portion of southeast Michigan, including the Greater West Bloomfield area. The bulletin issued Monday afternoon indicated that warm temperatures on Tuesday will lead to a melting of 3 to 6 inches of packed snow. A frost depth of nearly 15 inches will prevent the water from being absorbed into the soil.  In addition, more than an inch of rain is expected to fall Tuesday across the area.  A dense fog advisory is also in place Monday evening through 7 a.m. Tuesday in the Detroit area. Fog is expected to limit visibility to less than a quarter mile at times.  To check road conditions before you leave the house, visit Patch's Commute page…

The mix of snow and freezing rain that began Sunday and lasted overnight into Monday morning forced the West Bloomfield School District and hundreds of others in the area to close. However, the high Monday was expected to hit 46 degrees, according to the NWS. The forecasting agency …
