If you have a Kroger Plus Card and purchased Farm Rich products subject to a recent recall due to possible E. Coli contamination, expect to hear from the retail chain. On Friday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Safety Inspection Services (FSIS) announced Farm Rich products is voluntarily recalling 196,222 pounds of product. At this time, the recall only affects 22 oz. Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices, with a “Best Buy” date of May 15 or May 16, 2014, in the Kroger Michigan Division. The product UPC code is 41322 35643. Busch’s Fresh Food Market today is announcing the voluntary recall of several handmade Busch’s products, due to the unlikely but possible contamination of a purchased ingredient with pieces of blue plastic. More than 70 varieties of peanuts are added to a massive Sunland Inc. recall for possible salmonella contamination. Here's the latest.
A food recall that began with a contaminated batch of peanut butter sold at Trader Joe's has now expanded to include raw and roasted in-shell and shelled peanuts, Sunland Inc. announced Friday in a news release posted on the Food and Drug Administration website. The nuts were processed in the Sunland Peanut Processing Plant in Portales, N.M. The same plant processed the two Trader Joe's Valencia Peanut Butter varieties linked to an outbreak of salmonella bradeney, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The grocery store chain asks customers in 15 states to return the product, because of possible listeria contamination.
The Kroger Co. is asking all Michigan customers, and those in 14 other states, to check their refrigerators for certain Kroger Fresh Selections Tender Spinach 10-ounce packages, which are being recalled due to possible listeria monocytogenes contamination. Pregnant women or people with weakened immune systems could suffer severe illness after eating listeria monocytogenes. According to an alert issued by the Food and Drug Administration, the product is supplied by NewStar Fresh Foods LLC, has UPC code 0001111091649 and a "best if used by" date of Sept. 16. Kroger stores are recalling certain Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes because they may contain soy protein. According to a release from Pinnacle Foods Group LLC, the parent company for Aunt Jemima, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy protein may run the risk of an allergic reaction if they consume this product. Pinnacle issued the voluntary recall after it discovered "there may have been a potential cross-contact with product that contained soy protein being produced on the same equipment" according to the release. Smucker Co. is recalling 16-ounce jars of Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter Chunky distributed in many states, including Michigan, due to possible salmonella contamination, according to a report in Fox News. Approximately 185,000 pounds of ground turkey is being recalled after a sample showed a low level of salmonella infection. Cargill Meat Solutions Corp. of Springdale, AR, announced Sunday that it is recalling Honeysuckle White, Kroger and HEB brands of 85-percent-lean fresh ground turkey products due to possible contamination from Salmonella Heidelberg.
