Detroit Police initially had no leads in the case before another alleged murder Jan. 3.
An arrest has been made in the murder of West Bloomfield father of seven Samir Hannawa, WDIV-TV reports. William M. Heard, 39, of Detroit, was charged with homicide felony murder in connection with Hannawa's murder. Police say Heard shot, killed and carjacked cab driver Tyrone Hitchcock, 48, of Detroit on Jan 3rd. Police initially had no leads in the case and Crime Stoppers of Michigan offered a $2,500 reward for anonymous tips leading to the arrest of those responsible for his death. Seven children in West Bloomfield who are without their father after his murder in Detroit are receiving a moral and financial boost, thanks in part to their classmates. The local nonprofit organization Chaldean American Ladies of Charity (CALC) are collaborating with the Walled Lake Consolidated School District and the nonprofit Chaldean Community Foundation on an emergency relief fund to help after Samir Hannawa, 49, was gunned down while working Nov. 7. Family still seeks answers after shooting last week at west side Detroit auto shop.
A candlelight vigil was scheduled in West Bloomfield Monday night in honor of Samir Mikha Hannawa, 49, who was laid to rest this past weekend after tragedy struck last week. According to news reports and a Facebook post by the local Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce, Hannawa, 49, a father of seven living in West Bloomfield, was shot by an unknown assailant(s) at Great Lakes Collision Shop at on Wyoming near Grand River in Detroit Nov. 7.
