Optimist Club of Keego Harbor hosts Sunday lunch with Santa at Santia Hall.
The Optimist Club of Keego Harbor hosted an estimated 100 children for Sunday lunch at Santia Hall; giving away gifts, painting faces, and of course, a visit from Santa Claus. While families socialized and enjoyed good company, West Bloomfield Patch wanted to know: what are kids asking for from Santa this year? The children of Keego Harbor graciously filled us in. Merry Christmas, Keego! If you had your picture taken with Santa Claus, click the Upload Photos and Videos button to share it with Patch readers.

Santa Claus paid a special visit to several hundred local children in Keego Harbor.
"Santa Claus is Coming to Town" has been a popular refrain in Keego Harbor this week in anticipation of the big guy's scheduled to town. It was no surprise, then, that visitors to the annual tree lighting event were in the midst of song when Santa Claus arrived to Keego. Several hundred children packed in the Keego DPW building Friday night to tell Santa what they wanted for the holiday, partake in karaoke machine carols and have fun thanks to area volunteers and sponsors.

The jolly old elf will arrive this Friday. Here are the days and hours he'll be available this season.
Ho, ho, ho! Santa Claus is coming to town – or, more specifically, to The Somerset Collection in Troy. Here's what you need to know about Santa's arrival and extended visit to the upscale mall this season. Santa will arrive in Troy at 6:30 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 16 in front of Somerset Collection North between J Alexander’s and Capital Grille. There will be stilt walkers, jugglers, a caroling quartet and townspeople handing out roasted almonds to guests. At 7 p.m., the Dearborn Marching Band will begin marching and playing a holiday tune from Nordstrom’s to the center doors. They will play as Santa arrives in a horse-drawn carriage with Princess Celeste. Once inside, the Dearborn Jazz Band will play while Santa visits with all his guests…

The website offers fun activities for anyone eager for St. Nick's arrival.
Some people simply can't wait till Christmas morning to find out whether Santa Claus has paid them, or their neighborhood, a visit. For those who are impatient, don't worry. You can keep tabs on the big guy by following the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) website, which for one night is dedicated to tracking Mr. Claus' coordinates. The site is more than an enhanced GPS; it also contains a "Kids Countdown Village," which offers games, activities and other features for young ones who eager for Santa. According to its website, NORAD has been tracking Santa for more than 50 years now, as did its predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD). The tradition began in 1955, the website says, after a Colorado Springs, CO…

About 100 people participated in a chat with Santa Thursday evening; here is the replay, complete with some video responses.
When our Patch colleagues from Wisconsin told us they got hold of the big guy and that he'd agreed to a chat online, we couldn't resist passing it on to you. So live from the North Pole – via Wisconsin - there was the first PatchChat with Santa. Replay what Santa had to say by clicking above.
