Drake Sports Park was the place to be this weekend for girls who love softball, as the North Farmington-West Bloomfield Impact travel team held tryouts.
The North Farmington-West Bloomfield Impact travel fast pitch softball team held tryouts for its 2011-12 season beginning Friday. They continue through Sunday at Drake Sports Park. NFWB fast pitch travel director Gabrielle Sack said that the girls have to try out every year in order to be on the travel team, which features girls in the 10-years-and-under, 12U, and 14U divisions. NFWB President Jeff Gabalski added that the league is growing — while in years past there has been one team, he hopes that the league can field three next year.
