When he wrote his best-selling book My Faith is Taking Me Someplace, Bishop Andrew Merritt, pastor of Straight Gate International Church, was serious. On Easter Sunday, his belief that he has been called to plant a new church will be taking Bishop Merritt and his Detroit-based ministry to Oakland County. After 33 years and eight expansions in Detroit, Bishop Merritt will open a West Bloomfield affiliate of Straight Gate International Church this Sunday at Orchard Lake Middle School.
