Friday's forecast calls for a chance of snow showers before 3 p.m., then a slight chance of rain showers. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent and the high temperature is expected to top out at 43 degrees. According to the NWS, Saturday will offer warmer temperatures and sun, with a high of 51. Expect lows to dip to the 30s and 40s this weekend in West Bloomfield, despite warm mid-week temperatures. Snow is possible on Monday.
Well, it was nice while it lasted. The blast of 70-plus-degree summer temperatures this week in Metro Detroit are on their way out, according to the National Weather Service. A cold front is headed into the area and expected to drop temperatures to as low as 32 degrees. The storms could produce heavy rainfall and wind gusts up to 50 m.p.h.
Scattered thunderstorms are likely today and this evening, according to a hazardous weather statement issued early Monday morning by the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac. The best chances for thunderstorms will be between 5 p.m. Monday and 2 a.m. Tuesday, though severe weather is not expected at this time, according to the weather service. The strongest storms, however, could produce wind gusts up to 50 m.p.h. as they move east at 25 m.p.h. The storms will also be able to produce locally heavy rainfall.
