About Don
I am a native Detroiter -- and U-M grad - who moved back to area and settled in West Bloomfield with my family in 1996. Since then I have headed the local offices of two national/international Jewish organizations: Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and B'nai B'rith. In addition I've been a regular writer for the Detroit Jewish News and been a PR and marketing consultant for various organizations. My wife is a journalist and my daughters both graduated Farmington Public Schools. Hannah is at MSU and Emma is enjoying and learning on a "gap year" program in Israel. Our dog, Kiah -- a black lab/border collie mix -- is a valued family member.
I enjoy music, books, keeping current on what is happening in the world and being outdoors. In my non-work life I remain committed and active in areas I used to work professionally: civil rights and diversity education and appreciation, Jewish communal affairs, good government, Israel advocacy and peace promotion, and education and promotion of learning.
I am a member of Congregation B'nai Moshe in West Bloomfield.
