Jonathan Warshay, Neighbor

Moved from Ferndale (where I served a 4-year term on City Council) to West Bloomfield.  I am a Legal Aid attorney and teach several subjects on the college level.  I belive in open, honest and efficient government.

I have had positions in the public, private and the non-profit sectors, including several in management.  I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration.  I have also worked in the IT field.

I am generally liberal politically, however I do look at spending closely.  While I do not like a bloated bureaucracy, the role of government is to protect and serve the public, so it cannot be simply thrown away as some might do.  I dislike the term "special interest" because everyone's interests are special.  That term is used to denegrate the beliefs of others.  The founders of our nation set up checks and balances because they know there were many different, competing interests.
