Amy Sternberg, owner of Artworks By Amy, LLC, said her West Bloomfield business started in October 2010.

How did your business get started? I was always creative and making gifts for friends to give to other friends. At the suggestion of my mother in law, I decided to turn my hobbies in a business. I started with just a few items, and slowly my business grew.
What products does your business provide? Personalized banks, jewelry boxes, bookends, step stools, rocking chairs, party favors. I also refinish and paint larger pieces of furniture. Heirloom pieces that are passed down in the family.
What do you want your business to be best known for? The personal touch I give to each piece.
What's your most popular product? Elephant Banks!
Why did you choose the location that you did? Working out of my home gives me the ability to spread out my work and work at my own pace.
