Music @ Main Hosts Gratitude Steel Band in June

As part of the Music @ Main concert series, The
Friends of the West Bloomfield Twp Public Library will host the Gratitude Steel
Band on Sunday, June 23, 2013. The single, hour-long performance will begin at
3:00 pm with doors opening at 2:30pm. 
The show will be held in the Meeting Room of the West Bloomfield Public
Library, 4600 Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield.  The concert is free.

The Gratitude Steel Band will whisk you away to the sandy
beaches of the Caribbean. With their blend of steel drum classics, salsa, soca,
and contemporary music, you'll believe that you're basking under the tropical
sun and feeling the warm sea breeze blowing through your hair. Join in
the fun with this live singing steel band and experience music from such
traditions as Calypso, Merengue, Marley, Jimmy Buffett and Jimmy Cliff to name
a few.

The band of Russell family members includes Chaz, Dajhumbay, Janiela,
Loretta and Coretta and they live in West Bloomfield.

The Friends are
enthusiastic supporters of the West Bloomfield Township Public Library's
services, programs, and materials. For over 60 years, the Friends have fostered
growth of the Library with donations of more than $600,000.
