Diana Lewis Emcees Sept. 1 Walk4Friendship

The fundraising event held in West Bloomfield includes a performance by Chicago Boyz Acrobats.

Retired WXYZ-TV news anchor Diana Lewis will be the emcee at this year's Walk4Friendship, a benefit for Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield held Sept. 1.

The 5K and 1 mile walks start at 12:30 p.m. with an opening ceremony at Friendship Circle, 6892 W. Maple, and ends with a celebration at the Jewish Community Center, 6600 W. Maple. There, participants will enjoy laser tag, horseback rides and other activities, along with a performance by Chicago Boyz Acrobats.

"We expect this year's annual Walk4Friendship to be the biggest and most successful yet," said Friendship Circle director Bassie Shemtov. "I am so proud that Diana Lewis has joined hands with Friendship Circle, and I urge everyone to come out and spend Sunday afternoon with us."

In years past, Walk4Friendship has drawn thousands of participants. This year's fundraising goal is $500,000. The money helps Friendship Circle provide support and services to more than 3,000 families of children with special needs.
