Updated: Dive Team Recovers Body of Missing Man in Walnut Lake

Police say the man, 21, jumped into the West Bloomfield lake and did not resurface.

Update, 12:55 p.m. - The Oakland County Sheriff's office has confirmed that the body of Lucas Yuji Zaima, 21, has been found in Walnut Lake in West Bloomfield.

A report from the Sheriff's office states that Zaima's body was found at the bottom of the lake, almost 90 feet down.

An autopsy will be preformed by the Oakland County Medical Examiner's office.

The incident remains under investigation. Police say alcohol does appear to be a factor in the drowning.

The Oakland County Sheriff's dive team and West Bloomfield Police are searching Walnut Lake for a missing 21-year-old Beverly Hills man.

According to a report from the Sheriff's office, the man and six friends were on a boat on the lake late Thursday, when the man jumped into the water. The report states that the man did not resurface.

WXYZ is reporting that the man's friends told police it was around 1 a.m. Friday when they noticed he was no longer on the boat. The did not see him go into the water, the article states.

The area being searched is between 90 and 100 feet deep. Police said there is no visibility at that depth, and the dive team is using a robotic camera and sonar to search the area.
