4 Classes You Can Take at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital

Learn healthy ways to cook Jewish holiday fare and more in August.

Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital regularly offers opportunities to expand your base of knowledge about health and wellness. 

Here are four classes you can take in August: 

1. Seated Yoga Class, Aug. 20, 2 p.m.

Join yoga teacher Julie Levinson for a free session of seated yoga. Learn how your healing path can be complemented by adaptive yoga. Drop-ins are welcome. Check in at the Vita desk 15 minutes before class, which will be held in the Demonstration Kitchen.

2. Not-So-Traditional Jewish Holiday Cooking, Aug. 20, 6:30 p.m.

Learn to transition old-world recipes into today’s healthier lifestyle without sacrificing flavor. Grandma’s recipes will be explored and adapted for new healthy holiday traditions during this class, held in the Demonstration Kitchen.

3. Reiki Training-Reiki II, Aug. 23, 1 p.m.

Join Reiki Master Darcie Brunette to learn how to perform Reiki sessions on yourself and others to relieve stress and promote relaxation. This is a 5-hour class, held in the Vita center.

4. Summertime Salads, Aug. 27, 5:30 p.m.

There’s no better way to keep summer alive than by diving into simple, energizing salads. Join in this culinary journey of greens, vinaigrettes, legumes and more, held in the Demonstration Kitchen.
