Get Out: Pharaoh's Rule, Bunnyville, Easter Brunch

From writing hieroglyphics to delicious Easter Brunches, there's something for everyone this weekend in and around West Bloomfield.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. West Bloomfield Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and events to attend in the area.

Why go: This spring celebration at the zoo is a popular event for kids of all ages. The day offers a Funny Bunny Game Tent, Jelly Bean Jamboree, live mini-musical of the "The Bunny Follies," crafts, the Easter Bunny, and goodies.  Plus admission is only $5 for non-members if you bring in a canned food donation for Gleaners Community Food Bank.

When: Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Why go: If you have been thinking about trying yoga, then today is the perfect time to start. This specific class is designed for beginners, so no need to feel any pressure. Yoga has been known to boost the immune system and improve strength and flexibility for your body and mind. You will learn basic yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation tools that will make you healthier all around.

Where: It's A Matter of Taste, 2323 Union Lake Rd., Commerce

When: Sunday at 10 a.m.

Why go: I may not be an official foodie, but I appreciate good food.  So, my pick for jump starting your Easter holiday is It's A Matter of Taste. The restaurant is offering eggs benedict, cinnamon pecan french toast, omelet's made to order, smoked salmon, prime rib, a sweets table and lots more tasty offerings.  At this time reservations were filling up quickly.  Other restaurants in the area offering Easter Brunch include Ginopolis in Farmington Hills, Andiamo of Bloomfield Township, Bay Pointe Golf Club in West Bloomfield, and Moose Preserve Bar and Grill in Bloomfield Hills.

Where: Our Lady of Refuge Parish, 3750 Commerce Rd., Orchard Lake

When: Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Why go:  If you've missed getting in on the Easter Egg Hunt action, here's your last chance this year. Our Lady of Refuge will be offering a Blessing of the Baskets at 11 a.m., and then a chance for the little ones to enjoy running around hunting for Easter goodies.

When: Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Why go: This family friendly exhibit takes you back in time to ancient Egypt.  You will be able to walk through the Parted Red Sea, learn about pyramids, write your name in hieroglyphics, plus have the option to make some cool crafts.
