Halloween Trick-or-Treat Hours in Oakland County

In Oakland County, trick-or-treat times vary from community to community. In West Bloomfield kids, can trick-or-treat from 6-8 p.m.

My first thought when I looked this over is gone are the days when the oldest kids stopped by at 9 p.m. and my mom dumped whatever candy was left into their pillow cases.

On the other hand, now that I am a mom I can totally understand why cities choose to observe these hours. I am actually thankful for the hours, because I also have a dog that likes to bark at everything that walks by. Since most little ones are in bed by 9 p.m., it makes sense. By 8 p.m. kids feet are usually tired and they get just enough time to head home to let parents check their goody bag and enjoy a sweet treat or two.
Remember if you run out of candy or are ready to close shop on the door-to-door fun you can always turn your porch light off.
