Folk Music Icon Performs Oct. 6 in West Bloomfield

Temple Kol Ami and Michigan Interfaith Power and Light host the concert featuring Peter Yarrow.

Folk music icon Peter Yarrow will perform Oct. 6 at Temple Kol Ami in West Bloomfield, in an event hosted by the Temple and Michigan Interfaith Power and Light.

Yarrow is best known for his role in Peter Paul & Mary and for writing hits such as “Puff the Magic Dragon,” “Day is Done,” “Light One Candle” and “The Great Mandala.” He is also an activist behalf of civil rights and social justice. In 1982, he won the Lowenstein Award for advancing the causes of human rights. In 2000, he founded Operation Respect to prevent bullying in schools.
