Wild Swan Brings 'Jack and the Beanstalk' to West Bloomfield

In the Dec. 15 performance of the popular fairy tale, Jack finds the giant and much more as he travels up the beanstalk.

Wild Swan Theater, known for its professional productions of family-friendly plays, will bring Jack and the Beanstalk to The Berman Center for the Performing Arts Dec. 15 at 1 p.m.

Fast-paced and lively, this take on the popular children's fairy tale also offers many opportunities for audience participation. In Wild Swan’s version, Jack’s excursions up the fantastical beanstalk not only lead to his well-known encounters with a very silly giant, but to the rescue of his long-lost father as well.

Longtime actors Sandy Ryder, Michelle Trame Lanzi, and Jeremy Salvatori portray the characters in this production. Lorrie Gunn brings magic to the production on her harp, violin and various percussion instruments. Toni Auletti has designed the sets, and Rebecca Valentino the lively costumes and Attila Huth and Bryan Huddleston the inventive props.
