Frugal Family: Parents, Enjoy Newfound Time Alone

The kids are away, or at least at school all day, now the adults can play. Celebrate the start of the school year by enjoying one of these adult-oriented events in and around West Bloomfield.

A Whole Foods employee skilled in the art of the local brew will lecture on the subject of porters as part of a weekly series designed to bring patrons on an "unforgettable beer tasting journey." For $5, you learn about beer and receive 4 oz. samples. Over 21 only, please.

Deal: Founders Brewing Company of Grand Rapids is set to debut its new, limited-edition Canadian Breakfast Stout. This new, double-chocolate-coffee-oatmeal stout will be available to try along with others from the Founders brand. Founders employee Beau Loncharte will be taking your questions and there will be food pairings to try with each beer. Over 21 only please, $15 per person.

Deal: Celebrate a global event and spend the evening in downtown Birmingham for the third year in a row shopping your favorite stores, restaurants and boutiques including Tender, Harps, Ariada Boutique and others.
