What would you do with the money?

What questions do you have in regards to this campaign season?

OK, I just hung up from my 5th political survey/support phone call today. Did you get a promise that for a 30 second survey you could go on a 3 day cruise? Yes, we are on the “no call” list but what good is that as we approach the primaries? Ugh, I feel we have been living this election for ever… at least for 3 years. And in case it has been forgotten we haven’t even seen the conventions!

How many of you are tired of hearing the news and advertisements related to the upcoming elections? Have you heard confusing, and contradicting reports, comments, and advertisements? So what’s the truth? I still haven’t heard plans or ideas for solving the multiple problems this state and country are facing.

So why are some issues being voted on multiple times (remember one in the house has been voted on 30 times) and others ignored? That costs money every time a vote is called. Yet so many issues are not being addressed.

Did you hear the cry of sorrow that in June one major party raised more to spend on the election than the other major party? Tens and Hundreds of Millions of dollars were raised by the two majority parties. This is more money than the majority of the population ever sees.  Yet the discussion is “was that enough?”

We have TV, radio, e-mail, newspapers (on and off line), and telephone to touch many of us.  I would think the costs for a campaign would go down, not up. And look at the amount of snail mail we are getting in our mail boxes daily (I guess that does support our post office). Yesterday 12 pieces of political snail mail arrived at my friend’s mailbox.

The super pacs are amassing billions of dollars. My understanding from the media is that the culmination of super pacs is $9.800.000.000 (that’s Billion) that is being used to support various candidates. Remember though- nobody knows for sure. I chuckle that one super pac advertisement refers to the $4 billion dollars we are going further in debt daily. True or not, by my account 2 days could be cover with some left over. Ben Franklin was wise when he said a penny saved is a penny earned.

Seriously- how would you spend that money (not personally) but to help the local, state, and national situations? What could be done with all that money? What strings go with the money? Does it prevent someone from voting as their continuants expect?

Have you noticed that many of those elected are voting not necessarily the “common man’s” wishes but by party line? Does it prevent someone from voting as their constituents expect?  This of course has turned movement within the government to slush. Whatever happened to communication, collaboration, cooperation, and compromise? How else could that money be spent?

I still want to hear “the plans” and the reasoning. Where is the voice of reason? We the people need to let our thoughts be heard.
