5 Things You Need to Know About This Week

An active week at West Bloomfield Town Hall is punctuated by a special school board meeting, a dance-a-thon, and a 'Mix, Mingle & Meet' networking event.

1. The West Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Monday and at 12:15 p.m. Thursday in  to discuss a range of issues including the Civic Center paving project. At its , the board will hear a progress report on the project, a $1.4-million investment projected to begin construction May 1. , the township board is expected to approve 2011 fourth quarter/annual reports from all of the township departments. 

will host a special meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Walled Lake Educational Services Center (850 Ladd Rd., Walled Lake) to hear recommendations from advisory committes selected to help the board and the community it represents to re-draw feeder patterns and other issues in the wake of to close and Schools. The board is expected to make final decisions in February.

3. The weather forecast calls for clouds with temperatures hovering at freezing. The National Weather Service is expecting highs between 34 and 37 degrees from Tuesday through Friday, with clouds and sun interchanging throughout the week. On Monday, rain and thunderstorms are expected, with wind as high as 36 m.p.h.

 at 7 p.m. Tuesday in  to benefit the Bear Hug Foundation of Birmingham. The 300 sixth-graders enrolled in the party-planning companies' dance classes will "graduate" on Thursday with a 90-minute dance-a-thon aided with pledges from friends and family. This is the third year that Joe Cornell Entertainment has designated a worthy non-profit to receive the support and fundraising efforts of students and families in its dance program.
