Does Your Child Need an Adaptive Bike? Enter the Great Bike Give-Away

Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield launches its second annual contest this week.

The second annual Great Bike Give-Away launched this week, with the goal of providing children who have special needs with adaptive bicycles.

A new twist in the contest hosted by Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield is that anyone can contribute toward getting more bikes into the hands of children who need them. Here's how the contest works:

  • Now through May 12, parents can submit pictures of their children with special needs, along with a short explanation of why the child needs an adaptive bike.
  • To submit a photo, click on the image of the bike that will meet your child's needs from the images at the top of the contest page and enter on the bike's page.
  • Submitted entries must be nominated by at least 50 people in order to be entered in the drawing. An entry can be nominated by clicking on the child's picture on the contest website.
  • A drawing will be held for each prize to determine the winners of the adaptive bikes. Only those with 50 nominations will be eligible.
  • Five additional bikes will be awarded as "Director's Choice" honorees.

Bikes from Buddy Bike, Rifton, Ambucs, Triaid, Flaghouse and Tadpole Adaptive will be awarded.
