Country Club Golf Courses Vandalized; Canadian Teenager Arrested at Kohl's

Pine Lake golf courses vandalized by vehicles

Several golf courses were damaged overnight March 31 after vandals broke into a maintenance building at and borrowed equipment used to tend the grounds, according to Lt. Tim Diamond.

Sometime between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. April 1, four maintenance vehicles were driven around causing damage, but nothing was reported missing, Diamond said. "It's a problem we get every now and then with so many golf courses in town," Diamond added. "It's typically kids, particularly when there's nothing stolen. They're just there to do damage."

The case has been turned over to the WBPD detective unit.

Jewelry stolen from purse at hospital

A employee reported $2,100 in jewelry and $40 cash stolen from her purse, which was left in a staff lounge on March 19, according to Diamond.

The incident, reported March 26, happened after the employee reported to work in the morning shift and took the jewelry off of her person, Diamond said. The employee said she put the jewelry in her wallet and her wallet in the purse.

The missing jewelry consisted of a gold chain and a couple of pairs of earrings, Diamond added. The case has been turned over to the WBPD detective unit.

Teen takes perfume, jewelry from Kohl's

A 15-year old resident of Windsor, Ont. is suspected to have stolen $193 worth of jewelry and perfume from March 31, according to Diamond.

A loss prevention officer at Kohl's allegedly saw the teenage female place the items, including bracelets and rings, into her purse and arrested her, Diamond said. At the , Diamond continued, the suspect was released and turned over to her father's girlfriend.

The case has been turned over to the WBPD detective unit.
