West Bloomfield Township Police Department reports from Feb. 14-19 included 45 alarms, 27 crashes and 19 arrests. Among the highlights:

Man jailed on charges of breaking and entering, assault

A 28-year-old Detroit resident was in Oakland County Jail on Monday, charged with breaking into his former girlfriend's home and assaulting two children, according to Police Lt. Tim Diamond.

The incident occurred about 3 a.m. Friday, Diamond said, when Ahkendre Maurice Young began pounding on the door of the 39-year-old woman's home on the 6200 block of Eastbrooke as two associates of his waited in a car. Diamond said the man kicked down the door after the woman refused to let him in, and the two began quarreling.

Diamond said two of the woman's three children, an 18-year-old and a 10-year-old, became physically involved as the quarrel escalated throughout the woman's condominium in the Silverbrooke complex. Young allegedly punched the two children and left the woman's home with his associates, Diamond said.

Residents got a description of Young's vehicle and called police, who found Young at about 4:17 that morning, driving south on Drake just past Maple, Diamond said. Young and one of his associates were arrested then. The third fled on foot and was eventually apprehended and arrested.

Diamond said the case was turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, which authorized warrants for Young, but not for his associates. He was charged with one count of breaking and entering, one count of assault and battery, one count of driving with a suspended or restricted license and one count of resisting an officer. Young was being held on $450,000 bond cash/surety.

Man accused of exposing himself returns to boutique

Police are investigating a report that a man exposed himself at a West Bloomfield clothing boutique.

According to Diamond, the incident happened near closing time Feb. 18 at Eden Revolution, 7421 Orchard Lake Rd. Diamond said the man, described as in his 40s, about 6 feet tall, 205 pounds with curly, dirty blond hair, fled after one of the store's employees alerted another man working nearby to the incident.

Diamond explained that a couple of weeks prior to this incident, the same man went into the same boutique asking for a "wax," while wearing just a black leather jacket and sheer black pantyhose that exposed his genitals. The incident was not reported to police at that time, Diamond said.

When the Feb. 18 incident occurred, the man reportedly claimed to be "looking for something for his wife," Diamond said.

Door destroyed in dispute

A 34-year-old Chicago man is being investigated after allegedly kicking in the door of his former girlfriend's home on the 1500 block of Tanfield Street, according to Diamond.

The man and woman, who have a child together, were discussing a financial arrangement on the woman's front porch when she asked him to leave and went inside around 1:20 p.m. Sunday. Diamond said the man became irate and kicked down the door.

Diamond said the man fled when the 30-year-old woman told him she was calling police. The door was destroyed, Diamond said.
