UPDATED: Missing Student's Body Discovered, Suspects in Custody

Tiane Brown was reported missing after she failed to pick up her children at her parents' West Bloomfield home.

The discovery of a body in Detroit Wednesday ended the search for a missing Wayne State University (WSU) student with ties to West Bloomfield.

Tiane Brown was reported missing on Monday, after she failed to pick up her three children at her parents' West Bloomfield home. The Waterford Township resident was last seen Monday night at WSU.

WDIV-TV reported early Wednesday afternoon that a vehicle and body were found at the Packard Plant site, and that police had arrested two men who may be tied to Brown's disappearance.

According to Detroit Free Press report, Brown died of a gunshot wound to the head. The newspaper reported that police at a press conference declined to say whether Brown's death was a random crime.

Brown was a law student who also held a bachelor's degree in biosciences and a master's degree in biomedical engineering. Her children are being cared for by relatives.

The Free Press report quoted Detroit Police Chief James Craig, who said during the press conference, “It’s a tragic day because Tiane was special to so many, someone striving to be a key part of this city."
