Larceny from car at a day care facility

Diamond said that police are investigating a larceny from a car at day care center after an employee there said that she saw someone take a black, leather purse from a car. The theft, which occurred at 6:20 p.m. July 19, occurred when a white, Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows pulled alongside a Honda CRV in the parking lot,  Diamond said. The witness did not get a close look at the suspect or the getaway car, but noted out-of-state plates on the Cherokee. The purse, which belonged to another employee, was reported to contain $40 in cash and credit cards.
