Vehicles Attacked in West Bloomfield Neighborhoods

According to West Bloomfield Township Police reports, thieves took electronics, cash and credit cards.

A number of West Bloomfield residents had items stolen from their vehicles during the week of Sept. 15-Sept. 21:

  • Five vehicles in two subdivisions had windows smashed and items taken from them in the early morning hours of Sept. 15. Streets affected were Watford, Westbury, Ashburton and Woodbriar, all in the 14 Mile and Haggerty area, West Bloomfield Township Police Lieutenant Tim Diamond said.
  • A resident in the 7000 block of Treeline reported that $60 in cash and a credit card were taken from a vehicle parked in the driveway sometime between Sept. 16 and Sept. 17. Diamond said the resident learned the card had been used at a gas station in Romulus. Detectives reviewed surveillance tapes of a man in his 30s putting gas into a tan pick-up truck.
  • Diamond said a resident in the 6000 block of Carrington Circle West, awakened at 4:42 a.m. on Sept. 19 by noises outside, spotted the shadow of a person near his vehicle. When the man checked his Cadillac Escalade, he found the caps on the passenger side rims had been removed.
  • An iPad and laptop computer, valued at $1,700, were taken from a vehicle parked in the 4000 block of Shore Crest sometime between Sept. 18 and Sept. 19. Diamond said someone used an object to smash the passenger side rear window.
