West Bloomfield Woman Carrying Handgun Faces Drunken Driving Charge

The following information was supplied by the Farmington Hills Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate a conviction.

A 39-year-old West Bloomfield woman faces a drunken driving charge, after Farmington Hills Police stopped her vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, for swerving between lanes at Orchard Lake and 13 Mile Roads.

According to the report, the woman told the officer she had a concealed pistol license and a gun in her purse. The officer noticed an odor of intoxicants, and a breath test given at the station showed the woman's blood alcohol level was .10, which is more than the .08 legal limit.

Police confiscated the .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver and five .38 caliber bullets, and the report indicated that the Oakland County gun commission would be notified.
