Women Take $3600 Christmas Tree from West Bloomfield Business

A store representative told police the women drove off with three boxes containing parts for the 11-foot tree.

Two women drove away from English Gardens in West Bloomfield Nov. 13 with an 11-foot-tall, artificial Christmas tree worth $3,600.

According to West Bloomfield Township Police Lieutenant Tim Diamond, a store representative told police that the women placed three boxes containing the tree parts onto a pallet cart, then pushed it to an outside fenced area and tossed the boxes over the fence. The women then loaded the boxes into an older, white SUV and drove away.

Diamond said the store representative did not see the incident, which happened between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., but pieced it together after speaking with several store employees.
