Professional background

I draw my experience from 22 years in Advertising, Marketing and budget management for my clients, and family business in commercial landscaping. I am familiar with blue print details and big picture projects. In the last 3 years my activities included support for Kids day, the millage, and 2011 Home and Garden tour.  

How long have you lived in town and where? Do
you live with family?

I am a 12 year resident of Sylvan Lake with my Husband, Jeff.  I first fell in love with Sylvan Lake and became exposed when my family moved their business in the city in 1982. While it has since closed my family made Sylvan Lake their home including my Sister and her family.    

Explain why you're running for the city council

I am running for city council because I believe that we still have work to be done and issues to address. My three top priorities, since passing the public safety millage, are; Financial Oversight, Public Safety and Maintaining Sylvan Lake Quality of Life. 

What do you think are the biggest issues facing the city? How
would you handle them? 

• Sale of liquor by the glass – we currently have not sold it by the glass and need to see what actions would be needed to pass or not for the future growth of business owners wishing to have it.  
• Review of the voted in 5 mills and how many mills to levy and how it has been used so far and then prioritizing where to spend money. 
• Review the use parks & docks open to the public. Would this be a good idea for the community? What would be the potential outcome and or revenue to the city.
