What Do You Think About the Lone Pine Speed Limit?

The limit has been increased, based on a study by Michigan State Police, county commissioner John Scott said.

A speed limit increase on a West Bloomfield Township road that passes by two schools is rankling residents.

Oakland County Commissioner John Scott told West Bloomfield Township officials Monday that he's getting calls complaining about the increased speed limit on Lone Pine Road, from 35 to 45 miles per hour. The road passes by Lone Pine Elementary and West Hills Middle School

Scott said he contacted the Road Commission for Oakland County, and "they pretty much told me not a thing they can do, nor I." The change was made based on a state police study, he said.

"I don't understand why they raised it. There are two schools there, and from what I'm reading, there aren't even signs that have you slow down during school hours," Scott said.
