Thousands 'Pink Out' at Walled Lake Western

Thousands of students, parents and communty members endured cool temperatures and gusty winds to show support for breast cancer awareness.

The color pink brought a community together Friday night, as thousands piled into the stands at Walled Lake Western for the "" event, sponsored by the Ford Motor Co. and organized by the football boosters.

Approximately 1,800 pink T-shirts were sold as tickets into the event, which was a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation's Detroit chapter, a community resource for breast cancer awareness and education.

It was an emotional night for some and an inspirational effort for many. Two honorary ceremonies and the sea of pink kept breast cancer awareness at the forefront of people's minds throughout the night. And while the Warriors fought long and hard until the bitter end, they were unable to defeat the Grand Blanc Bobcats and lost the game, 23-21.
